Lafayette

Today Phoenix Toastmasters had it's lovable and adorable meeting at Lafayette. It was basically for the old excos' to handover to the new excos'.

However, I won't be ranting about the meeting. I'm going to give a small review on the Lafayette cafe at Damansara Uptown.

Caesar Salad. I was pretty full from lunch but I have to say they were very generous with their portion and price was acceptable for it. Also, I was spoilt for choice at the variety of green leaves they served. Yum yum!

Free apple appetizer which they gave us. It was ordinary apple serve with peanut butter in between. So for those of you with peanut allergies, unfortunately do not eat this! It was definitely something new, but it didn't leave me wanting more.

Free tiramisu cake for dessert. I have to say, this cake was delicious! The cream and coffee were at the right amount and the texture of the cake was soft and spongy. Definitely one of the better tiramisu cake I have eaten.

Overall, ambiance was comfortable and relaxing. Staffs were friendly, helpful and efficient. Food is delicious with reasonable price. I urge everyone to try at least once.

However, if you do sit at the corner long table, ask for the air con controller a it can get ridiculously cold.

Nexo and more

Today, the Yin family decided to pay a little visit at Bangsar South. We choose Nexo as our dinner location. The road to reach Bangsar South was horrendous but the food made up for it.

Nexo Review:
We ordered 5 dishes + 1 dessert and a bottle of red wine in total for 4 people.

Part of the bar in Nexo

Iberico Jowl. To me it was pork tenderloin. The taste and meat was amazing. The meat was chewy but in a good way. Accompanied by the balsamic sauce.

Viera. Despite my oh so horrible Seafood experience in Spain, I adored this dish very much. The scallops were fresh accompanied by its delicious romesco sauce.

Cochinilla. Suckling Pig with served with salad and mashed potato. The pig was cooked differently by it being soft and juicy -Similar to a pork stew- but with its crispy skin was too amazing to be missed!

Gambas Aglio Retroceso. Well from the picture, gambas means prawn and aglio is a type of pasta style. This dish was yet again -as my sis love to say- AMAZEBALLZ. The prawns were big and fresh while the pasta was cooked just nice with its aglio style.

Iberico Costillas (Iberico Ribs). We had to wait patiently for 45 minutes for this dish to finally appear on our table. However, the wait was worth it. The meat was so juicy and it blends it amazingly with the apple sauce. I had to clean the bones and made sure there were no meat left. No words can describe this dish. Honestly one of the best ribs I have ever eaten so far.

Though the food was amazing, we were charged with an exorbitant price. Service was friendly and efficient. I would recommend anyone who is a meat lover to try this place at least once. It is amazing and you won't regret it.

Today I watched he Hurt Locker with Mr.Kelvin Wong. It was -how should i describe this- interesting in its own way. However, I didn't get any meaning behind the story. It just left me feeling hanging and sort of a 'Was that it?' emotion. If anyone can give me an analysis for this movie do let me know.

I'm lost with a few questions:
Why did the man run down the stairs while Will was detonating the bombs?
Why did Will become so emotional when the kid -whom looked like Beckham died?
What was the meaning behind the merchant sending Will to the wrong house?
Why did Will ignore the boy -whom looked like Beckham- when the latter asked him to play football towards the end?

Too many questions bundled and jumbled up in my tiny head.

Ending the night with my perfect wine and an exuberant smile.

Oh, but before I go off. I would like to share with you all a short story.

The two pebbles (Obtained from http://www.rogerdarlington.me.uk/stories.html#Story66)

Many years ago in a small Italian town, a merchant had the misfortune of owing a large sum of money to the moneylender. The moneylender, who was old and ugly, fancied the merchant's beautiful daughter, so he proposed a bargain. He said he would forgo the merchant's debt if he could marry the daughter. Both the merchant and his daughter were horrified by the proposal.

The moneylender told them that he would put a black pebble and a white pebble into an empty bag. The girl would then have to pick one pebble from the bag. If she picked the black pebble, she would become the moneylender's wife and her father's debt would be forgiven. If she picked the white pebble, she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven. But, if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into jail.

They were standing on a pebble-strewn path in the merchant's garden. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two black pebbles and put them into the bag. He then asked the girl to pick her pebble from the bag.
The girl put her hand into the bag and drew out a pebble. Without looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles. "Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I picked."

Sometimes it is necessary to think out of the box or, in this case, out of the bag.

I thought it was a very interesting story because sometimes, the solutions to our problems are just in front of us. We just need to take a step back and look at it more evidently.

Jurassic World!

Well yes, judging from the title I went to watch Jurassic World today. But before I get into details on that. Let me just share with you all on food! What is a blog without food right? My colleagues and I went to the Good Batch for lunch today. I'm fairly disappointed with the portion of the food. It keeps getting smaller and smaller over the past few months since I've been there to visit it.

The Canadian. It cost me RM 22 (excluding GST) for the meal. The scramble egg was truly yummy but others were just alright. There was nothing about this dish that made me want to try more of it again.

I truly apologies (The Good Batch) but I doubt I will be coming back in a fairly long time for another round.

Moving on, pressing the play button is recommended for the next few read.

Jurassic World was 7/10.

I can tell you now, if you watch a thriller movie with me I'm a very animated person. Therefore I will jump at the slightest jump scare.

The movie overall was quite good, though I thought the ending was similar to Godzilla. Nevertheless, the CGI was amazing! Chris Pratt's acting was incredible as well, definitely giving him credit for this movie.

Today, Bubu (Not his real name) and Harresh managed to coax me into buying ark as well. More information on that game coming up after I find time to play it :)

Till then fellow readers~

Paradise Dynasty

Today, mom, sis and I had our dinner at Paradise Dynasty. The ambiance was soothing and calm, they had a buddha statue in the middle of the restaurant with mini pond in front of it.

Being little bird eaters we are, we only ordered three small dishes.

Stir Fry Kai Lan. It was delicious and well balance with it's flavor. I loved how the veggie is chewy at its stalk but delicious at its leaves as well.

Xiao Long Bao. It was either I had not have Xiao Long Bao in an incredibly long time or this dish was just to die for. The soup was amazing with its luscious meat in the middle. The skin was soft and easily chewed as well.

Black pepper pork. This dish was also done pretty well. The meat was non-fatty but tender. Each bite left you craving for more.

Overall, Paradise Dynasty was a really delicious restaurant. I would recommend you all to try it.

Relaxation

So I'm trying my utterly best to update my blog as much as I can for future purposes. Do read on if you love reading :) I promise it won't be boring.

Today mom, sis and I went to atria and explored the new mall. We had lunch at Nosh Up cafe. The ambiance was -in my opinion- an upmarket kopitiam style.

There weren't that many people as it was still rather early for lunch

Cute little bear deco for my mocha. It wasn't too bad, though I thought they could give a bit more caffeine instead.

Egg Benedict with grill chicken (RM 15). The  flavor was missing something, though the chicken was grilled to my liking. They even give a mini potato as the side.

Beef Burger. Presentation was lovely but I thought the sauce for the beef was just a bit too sweet. Again, this dish was lacking in a particular flavor. It didn't made me want to have more of it. Fries felt as though it was just unfroze and served.

Overall experience with Nosh Up was just alright. I didn't have the feeling of wanting to go back and try the place again.

Also, decided to watch cinderella with mom and sis. The CGI for the movie was incredible, especially during fairy godmother's magical transformation scene. Well I guess that's the difference between the old disney cinderella and today's one. Truly applause to Cate Blenchett for playing such a good evil stepmother.

*Side track* Cate Blenchett also played as Galadriel in LOTR movie.

What was I expecting watching this movie anyway? I had already knew the story line, how the ending would be. Well, I guess I was expecting a movie similar to Maleficent where they told the witch's side of the story.

Nevertheless, movie was just alright. Great evil stepmother actress and of cause them good CGI.

The Arrival Gates

She waits patiently, staring down at the aisle. Heart beating and pumping furiously, anxious and waiting for her most treasured person to appear. She knows she's nervous, she hasn't seen him for an incredibly good few months. She purposely arrived an hour earlier to try and calm her nerves but all the while kept getting distracted with the idea of seeing him.

Now here she is at this current moment, looking straight ahead at the arrival gates. People around her pushing and searching for their beloved. She wasn't annoyed because she knew how they must have been feeling, missing someone whom you haven't seen for a tremendously long time.

She closes her eyes, deep breaths, palms are sweaty and opened her eyes. Alas, she sees a familiar figure walking towards. She's overcome by joy and happiness. Boisterous smile plastered on her face and a tiny drop of tear escaped her deep brown eyes. She hugged him ever so tightly, afraid that this was a dream and he would vanished abruptly.

The moment of physical contact is all they needed. No words could describe how two souls who were meant for each other were finally joined and became a whole once again.

Early Daddy's Day Celebration

On a lovely humid evening, the yin family went to the Han's Room at The Garden's Mall to celebrate Father's Day. We ordered crispy pork for starters, roast chicken, dragon tiger garoupa fish and spinach soup. It was delicious!

Roasted Chicken. It was tender and amazing with a bit of mushroom in it.

The fierce looking fish. Well cooked and balance with all its flavor.

Look at all the desserts! We ordered green tea ice-cream from nana's place.

My colleague has a Baymax in his car! FUUUUUUUUUUU, i want a baymax too :'(

That's my update, short and sweet.
